We believe strongly in giving back.
Ed has made a commitment to use the fruits of his success in real estate to support breast cancer research and undergraduate science education. He serves on the Tufts-New England Medical Center Board of Governors and created the David E. Wazer Breast Cancer Research Fund in 1999. Ed and his wife, Barbara, have enthusiastically supported the fund by encouraging other funders and making their own personal donations. In 2005, they made a five-year $1 million gift to the fund. And in 2007, Ed made a major gift to his alma mater, College of the Holy Cross, to help fund the creation of a new integrated science center. Giving to science, Holy Cross and breast cancer research is personal for Ed. His wife and his mother were both diagnosed with breast cancer within the course of a month. And Ed sought care for them from a Holy Cross alumnus, David E. Wazer, MD, Radiation-Oncologist-in-Chief at Tufts-NEMC.

David contributes his time and expertise to several community organizations. His main focus has been as a member of the board of the Variety Boys and Girls Club located in East Los Angeles. This club provides a safe haven for youth from the ages of 7 to 17 in the most gang-infested area of the city. The club helps to guide the members towards gaining admission to higher education and provides scholarships to those who do go to college. The old club building was in major disrepair, and David led an effort to produce a cost effective design for a new building and to raise the funds for the project. The new club building was opened in 2012.
